- 2 limes, juiced

Procedure

1. In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a simmer over medium heat.

2. Add the chicken breasts to the pot and let them cook for about 15-20 minutes or until cooked through.

3. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the pot and shred it using two forks.

4. In the same pot, add garlic, onion, tomatoes, carrots, celery, and jalapeño pepper (if using). Cook for about 8-10 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.

5. Return the shredded chicken to the pot. Stir in the lime juice, cumin powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.

6. Let the soup simmer for another 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

8. Serve the Chicken and Lime Soup hot, garnished with fresh cilantro leaves, avocado slices, and tortilla chips or strips on the side.
